Baby Signing is an increasingly popular way to communicate with hearing children. It borrows signs from genuine sign language, with a few adaptations to take into account what little hands are capable of! The aim is to improve the communication between adults and children at an earlier age than is possible via speech alone. In fact, the benefits seem almost countless and the fun is endless as you will see from Jess' Signing Story. Our signing experience began with Adele Marshall's brilliant classes. We have also used the "Sing and Sign" DVDs produced by another signing teacher and Jess has loved watching and learning from those. Signing has been a HUGE part of our lives and I think it is an amazing concept. I have created this section of the website to record and share our own signing journey. I hope it will inspire others to give it a go. |
